BROWN RICE

Brown rice is the rice grain that has the bran or pericarp unremoved. It is also referred to as wholegrain rice. After rice is harvested, the grain is cleaned and the husk removed.

If the bran and the germ is removed the grain becomes white rice.

The bran and the germ of the brown rice are packed with vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, phosphorous, selenium, Vitamin B1, B3, and manganese as well as dietary fiber.
