LOW ALLERGY
Gluten is a general term for protein derived from wheat, corn and some other grains. The main purpose of using gluten or other vegetable proteins such as soy is to lower manufacturing cost. Some pets, just like humans, may be allergic to wheat, corn and soy.
Performa3 uses protein from animal sources (90+%). The remaining protein comes from rice. It is well understood that amino acid components of proteins from animal sources is more suitable and complete to dogs and cats and are better digested.
The Biological Value (BA) of common protein sources in petfood are: chicken (79), fish (70), beef/lamb (69), rice (57), wheat (49), soy (47), corn (36). This demonstrates wheat, corn, soy are among the lowest BV used in common pet food.
